September 11, 2013 - Digital Monument Press is proud to announce a release date of October 31 for Stay Awhile and Listen: How Two Blizzards Unleashed Diablo and Forged a Video-Game Empire. Launching on Kindle, iBooks, and Nook platforms for $9.99, the book is the first volume in the anticipated Stay Awhile and Listen series that chronicles the history of World of WarCraft developer Blizzard Entertainment and Diablo/Diablo II developer Blizzard North.
The first book in the Stay Awhile and Listen series concentrates on the founding of the two Blizzards and follows the developers as they create the premiere WarCraft and Diablo titles. Future installments will delve into World of WarCraft's impact on the Blizzard studios, the closure of Blizzard North in 2005, and the making of StarCraft and WarCraft games while maintaining a particular focus on the Diablo trilogy.
'Diablo makes a fine lens through which to analyze both Blizzard North and Blizzard Entertainment since each studio had a hand in all three games,' explains David L. Craddock, author of the Stay Awhile and Listen series. 'By zooming in on one Diablo game per book, I can thoroughly explore the era in which each game was made, the people who came together to make the games, and how both studios evolved along the way.'
